The Year That Was...best forgotten

The year 2008 was not good for the traders...both at BSE as well as our film distributors....but please do not assume that the reasons are the same. While world market is to be blamed for BSE, terrible scripts and seriously poor direction was responsible for the year of flop movies in our hindi film industry.

The biggest big budget disasters: Yuvvraj, God Tussi Great Ho, Drona and many many more.

At the same time we have seen some small movies of debutante directors doing great. The pick of the movies are Aamir, A Wednesday, Rock On, Dasvidaniya and Mumbai Meri Jaan.

But 3 movies those helped the box office earn some revenue in the entire year are Singh Is King, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini. The first is a movie without any sense, the second one is much awaited but full of flaws and the last one is just a new version to our Sunny Paji mid 90 flicks. Whatever it was, all the 3 movies together gave box office close 300 crores out of which Ghajini itself generated close to 165 crores.
